15″ Space Gray MacBook Air

.
Though we greatly appreciate anything that is donated, we would love two of these Mac Book Airs to use in managing The Book Observer’s day to day operations.

Why do we need them?
We are currently using a MacBook Pro that is around ten years old and a chrome book. We are having to use an external bluetooth keyboard with the MacBook Pro due to the built in keyboard no longer working. The built in mouse pad still works but the laptop is very slow and doesn’t always like to restart right away after being shut down.

The MacBook Pro is no longer covered by any warranty and when we inquired about getting it repaired we were advised that it would not be worth the cost. It has been a great laptop but it has definitely seen better days and is ready to retire.

The Chromebook was donated to us so we are unsure of how old it is but it too is having issues with randomly shutting down or locking up on us when in use for any length of time. It also has to be plugged in whenever in use now. Another difficulty is that it has no hard drive so we are unable to save any files on it. This makes it very limited on what we can do with it.

Due to these issues we are sometimes forced to use our own personal laptops for The Bookobserver use, but just as it is not a good practice to use company computers for personal use it is also not a good practice to use your personal computers for work. We would love to be able to keep the two seperate.

In Summary:
We know that we are asking a lot, especially with so many other non-profits out there asking for donations as well. However, if you could find it in your heart to give us the tools we need or to make a donation towards our computer fund it would be greatly appreciated. All donations are tax deductible.
