Written by Authors, we have an idea that you may love. While in our learning curve we wasted a lot of money running FB and reddit ads, to no avail. Now, we want to try something different. Something that may have never been tried before. We are reaching out to you for help in getting word out about our organization and what we do. Our team got together and devised a plan that can be of mutual benefit to our authors and our Organization. Authors, we have an idea that you may love.
Before coming up with this plan, we reached out to different groups and communities on FB & reddit. It was a shocking experience to say the least. I had no idea how much resistance and negativity we would run into. We were called spammers and sent messages advising us that our post has been deleted. We cannot post in their group. etc. But now putting all that behind us, we want to move forward and try something different.
Introduction
Hi. My name is Lee Sherrill and I am over Operations with “The Book Observer”. A 501c3 non profit organization. We address the need to read by offering free book reviews and other affordable services including advertising to authors.
Our great idea that authors may love is for us to temporarily make some of our advertising services free. Authors can send us their book image and details to create a listing on our website. In exchange for our creating a listing for your book, we ask that you help get word out about our organization. This can be on your FB or reddit page, your website, or even your creating a post. The post will have to be in a book related FB Group or reddit community that you admin over. We have several types of listings for your book that we can create shown below. Review them and choose which one would work best for you.
Listings that authors may choose from
Mention us on your FB or reddit page, your book will be listed on our home page with 50 BLR Points. This will stay on our home page for two weeks. If you choose this option we will need an image of your book, and a link to where it can be purchased.
Mention us on your FB or reddit page and post a link to our website on your website, your book will be listed on our home page with 75 BLR Points. We will also create you an authors page on our website. Your book listing will stay on our home page for three weeks. Your authors page will stay on the website for a year. We will need a link and an image of your book and a short write up of the author sent to us.
Another Listing Type
Mention us on your FB or reddit page, post a link to our website on your website and place a post about us on your book related FB group or reddit community. In exchange, your book will be listed on our home page with 100 BLR Points. We will also create you an authors page on our website and create you a meet author listing. The listing on the home page and the meet author listing will stay up for a month. Your authors page will stay up for a year. We will need a link and image of your book and an image of the author. Preferably holding a legible copy of your book sent to us.

Participation requirements
At this time we are looking for 15 – 20 authors to participate in our free book promotion program. If interested, you will need to become familiar with our Book Lovers Rewards Program. The only way to take advantage of the free BLR Points is for you to let your fans and followers know where they can view your listing and encourage them to sign up for the free program. Do keep in mind, we are looking for participants that will help us spread word about our organization and what we do.
You should have a good following of people including book reviewers, book lovers and naturally authors that utilize our services.
Your post should ask that all your fans and followers to like and follow us on FB & reddit, include a link to both pages in your write up. An example post that you can modify and use if you like is included below.
Other Requirements
Make sure that the link you provide us to your book is from a book retailer website that has some form of Verified Purchase Program. This is a requirement for you to take advantage of the BLR Points that each of the listing types offer. This helps prevent your book from being purchased, quickly read and returned for a refund. This is explained in more detail in our Book Lovers Rewards Program.
We understand that the Book Lovers Rewards aren’t much but we would like for you to do some research and try and find something similar on your end. A similar program where your fans can earn gift cards for purchasing your books. If you find one, please let us know for we have searched for one and cannot find anything similar.
